Currently open burning may occur and looks to be allowable through to the end of August.  September 1 marks the end of fire season in Alaska, but weather conditions must still be monitored in your area for potential hazards before burning.  In the Haines Borough you need a valid 2010 burn permit and need to call the HVFD at 766-2115 or 766-2121 prior to starting your burn.    

Please remember that you are responsible for fires you start.  Please be careful with all potential fire hazards.
