Wildland Fire Danger

-The burn ban has been lifted for the Haines Borough.  We have received steady rain in the two weeks.  Burn barrels & campfires are allowed with standard precautions about nearby combustible materials. Larger open burns need to be checked out by fire department officials prior to burning.  You need a valid 2009 burn permit and need to call the HVFD at 766-2115 or 766-2121 prior to starting your burn.     

Please remember that you are responsible for fires you start.  Please be careful with all potential fire hazards.
